What to Consider When Buying a Bangladesh VPS

When buying a Bangladesh VPS, focus on the server’s actual location, network quality, IP address, and resource allocation. The right configuration depends on whether you plan to host a website for Bangladeshi users, run a business application, or use a server that requires a Bangladesh IP address.

1. Check the Server Location and Network Quality

If your main audience is in Bangladesh, look for a VPS hosted in or near Dhaka. A geographically closer server can reduce latency, but the actual network route and the quality of the hosting provider’s connectivity matter just as much.

Before purchasing, check:

Latency from your target users or network.

Packet loss and connection stability.

International connectivity if your users are outside Bangladesh.

Whether a test IP or looking-glass service is available.

Do not choose a server based on its country label alone. Test the network whenever possible.

2. Understand BDIX Connectivity

BDIX is the Bangladesh Internet Exchange, which helps local networks exchange traffic within Bangladesh. If most of your visitors are in the country, a VPS with effective BDIX connectivity may improve access speed for local users. However, simply advertising “BDIX hosting” does not guarantee optimal routing, so verify the network setup and test from your target ISP.

3. Check Whether You Need a Bangladesh IP

If your website serves Bangladeshi users, a local IP may be useful. If you need the server for a platform that checks user location, verify the IP's geolocation and reputation before ordering.

Ask whether the plan includes IPv4, whether IPv6 is available, and whether the IP can be changed if it has problems.

4. Choose the Right CPU, RAM, and Storage

Do not choose a VPS based on price alone. Consider the workload:

1 GB RAM: Lightweight websites and simple services.

2 GB RAM: Small business websites, basic applications, and modest databases.

4 GB RAM or more: Heavier applications, multiple services, or workloads with higher memory requirements.

SSD storage is suitable for most general-purpose VPS workloads. Also check whether the plan uses KVM virtualization, what operating systems it supports, and whether resources can be upgraded later.

5. Compare Traffic, Bandwidth, and Support

Check the monthly traffic allowance and connection speed separately. An unmetered traffic plan does not necessarily provide unlimited bandwidth speed.

Before purchasing, also confirm:

Whether backups and snapshots are included.

Whether DDoS protection is available.

Whether managed support is included or server administration is your responsibility.

The renewal price, refund policy, and any additional IP charges.
